This level of service is available to all students through differentiated instruction in the traditional classroom.
Every educator in Box Elder School District is a member of a professional learning community that is guided by four questions during their weekly meetings.
Question #4 focuses the attention of all our instructional teams on the needs of our students to ensure that academic growth continues, for all students.
During the third grade year, students can be nominated by teachers, administrators, or parents to participate in the LEAP (Learning Enrichment Activities Program) cohort during their 4th and 5th grade years. The nominated students are selected based on teacher feedback, academic achievement and a research-based screening assessment.
Selected students will meet together once a month with our LEAP teacher to receive supplemental instruction in various areas of the Utah Core Curriculum. The groups will also participate in a culminating event at the end of each year.
*Transportation to and from the host school will be the responsibility of the parent.
Beginning in the 6th grade, all students are eligible to enroll in the accelerated class/s at their intermediate school if they meet the enrollment requirements (see individual schools for more information).
