District policy:  those teachers who have taught for more than 3 years but are new to Box Elder School District are in provisional
status for three years. 

In light of this...  

• Principals will make contact early to discuss Utah Professional Teaching Standards and set goals.


• Because collaboration, mentoring and coaching are valuable for all teachers, mentors are encouraged to make
  monthly contact with all teachers new to the district.


• ALL teachers new to the district will participate in Professional Learning Communities.
