Anonymous Angels

Anonymous Angels make a new addition to Box Elder High School this school year, spreading joy and curiosity with words of affirmation and encouragement.


Anonymous Angel’s notes started appearing during the early winter this school year, these notes have been found across the school. Some of the notes consist of words of affirmation and others have optimistic quotes. They have been spreading happiness throughout the school.


“Getting those random notes here and there means a lot.” said Hayden Chadaz, one of the advisors for the help squad.


Many students and faculty members have said that these notes have brightened their day; boosting morale throughout the school.

Here are a few approaching deadlines for graduation:

May 1st: All outside credit due (Credit not issued by BEHS) and scholarship reporting deadline

May 8th: U's made up, all fees paid and books/school supplies returned, final graduation program and newsletter. Must be passing 3rd trimester classes (needed for graduation credit) to be included in the final list.

Attendance Improves at BEHS

Attendance at Box Elder High School has improved compared to last year, but some students claim school pressures and overwhelming workloads still contribute to skipping class.


School administrators track attendance closely, especially chronic absenteeism, which affects many high school students.


Clark Funk states, “Last year our 11th graders, we had 36% that were chronically absent at this point in the year… It means they've missed 10% or more of the school days that we've had. So by definition, a student who's come to school less than 90% of the time is considered chronically absent.”


When comparing last year’s data to this year's, the number of chronically absent students has gone down.


“36% of our juniors were chronically absent at this point in the year last year. And this year it's only 33%. 12th graders, at this point, 24% were absent chronically, and now 20%,” Funk says.

Bee-hind The Scenes of the BEHS Secretaries Desk

Beyond answering phones and taking messages, the office secretaries at Box Elder High School are unsung heroes of the school


The secretary's responsibilities extend far beyond the typical tasks. They make sure things flow smoothly and they don’t just focus on their own job, they help school as a whole.


Carrie Gunter, BEHS receptionist, says “When no one's calling I get to help everyone in the office and get to know little pieces of everyone's jobs.”


Similarly, Gunter, being the first face when entering the office, has a welcoming smile and drive to help others which is the perfect warmth to greet people coming into BEHS.

Box Elder Student Government, What's it Like and What Do They Do?

The Box Elder Student Government often work hard behind the scenes to make BEHS a great school. Members take classes, plan activities, and do so much more service for the benefit of our student body. It doesn’t just take time, it also takes teamwork and dedication.


A question asked about Student government by many students at BEHS is what do they do? Brielle Yates, senator for the sophomore student government responded.


“A good example of this is homecoming week. We planned all the dress ups, all the activities for each day. We decorated for the dance and planned the dance, got the DJ…just all the things like that,” said Yates
