We are excited to announce that Dr. Gerald “Jerry” Jackman has been selected as the new Facilities Director for Box Elder School District.
Dr. Jackman brings a unique and extensive background in education, along with an understanding of our district. Throughout his career, he has had the opportunity to work with incredible students, staff, and communities across Box Elder, including BRMS, ACYI, Fielding, the District Office, Snowville, BRHS, Sunrise, and Harris.
His experience includes:
• Teaching math at Bear River Middle School and Bear River High School
• Serving as Assistant Principal at ACYI
• Principal of Fielding Elementary
• CTE Director and Secondary Curriculum Specialist, while also serving as Principal of Snowville during the construction of the new school
• Assistant Principal at Bear River High School
• Principal of Sunrise High School during its rebuild
• Currently serving as Principal of Harris Intermediate
Dr. Jackman is also unique as he has worked at every level—elementary, intermediate, middle school, high school, and the district office—along with experience in CTE, comprehensive guidance, alternative education, and adult education. This breadth of experience helps make him prepared for this new role.
We would also like to extend our sincere gratitude to Corey Thompson for his outstanding service as Facilities Director. Corey’s leadership, dedication, and commitment to our schools have made a lasting impact across the district. We are grateful for all he has done and wish him the very best in his next chapter.
